Denim Dash 2015 Recap

The first annual Denim Dash has come to a close, and we our jaws have officially dropped to the ground — together we raised over $60,000 for Global Genes and rare disease research thanks to 675 dashers and over 1,100 supporters! For our first year that’s pretty awesome, right? We learned so much, and we cannot wait to see what’s in store for next year! Could there be an East Coast physical race?? We hope so! :)

Throughout the week of March 22nd, registered dashers participated all across the world “virtually”. All you had to do was put on your official Denim Dash tee shirt, fill out your race bib with who you are running for, and hit the streets (or treadmill for those of us in the Northeast!). We tracked everyone’s 5K by monitoring the #DenimDash5K & #DenimDash 2015 hashtag on Twitter, and by checking out the Facebook event page!

The Global Genes team had their own physical meetup with music, vendors, and food! While we hosted a fundraising Paint Nite raising an additional $700. We also had the pleasure of meeting Angela Sasso, who has a rare swallowing disorder. We were joined by her and her family, and a fun night was had by all! Hopefully we’ll be able to collaborate again in the future!
