Throughout our extensive research, we came across NORD’s (the National Organization for Rare Disorders) website countless time. They are not only a non-profit organization, but a provider of various information pertaining to the rare disease community. While their website may be overwhelming at first, it is filled with helpful information for all, whether you’re a patient, advocate, or medical professional. They are an amazing organization, and we are extremely grateful for what they do, and impressed by how successful they have been.
The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), a 501(c)(3) organization, is a unique federation of voluntary health organizations dedicated to helping people with rare “orphan” diseases and assisting the organizations that serve them. NORD is committed to the identification, treatment, and cure of rare disorders through programs of education, advocacy, research, and service.
After speaking with various charities, we felt that NORD would be the best fit for our charity Spartan Race. NORD does not limit their help to one just one cause, but extends their helping hard to the entire rare disease community — and with this being our first team charity event, we wanted to do the same!
If you, or any one you know of would like more information regarding rare diseases and disorders, we would highly recommend checking out NORD’s website. If you are interested in taking on the Spartan course alongside us, please contact us and we will get you setup on our team! And lastly, donations are always welcome.Share this post:
